About Us
Why epcs4U?
The website epcs4u.com has been developed as “the” portal to marry together homeowners with local Domestic Energy Assessors to obtain an Energy Performance Certificate. The report attached to these certificates provides detailed information on how to improve the property in terms of energy efficiency and reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
If all properties were improved this would drastically reduce energy demand, the need for more power stations and help reduce the impact of climate change.
Energy Performance Certificates and Energy Efficiency
There has been much confusion over the introduction of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, Home Information Packs and Energy Performance Certificates, hence the development of this website by Green Heat Ltd. With two decades of experience in home energy assessments and ratings Green Heat are ideally placed to unravel the confusion and explain the full potential of Energy Performance Certificates.
Green Heat was established by Peter Thom in 1990 with the specific purpose of raising awareness of energy efficiency for the long term benefit of householders and the importance for future generations of conserving the Earth's resources. Green Heat is now one of the country's leading energy efficiency companies, being at the forefront of the development of Home Energy Audits and the promotion of the concept of energy efficient housing and affordable warmth. The Audit provides valuable information to the home owner on a range of cost effective improvements to reduce running costs and improve comfort conditions
Peter Thom, Chief Executive of Green Heat Ltd, has been actively involved in pioneering the concept of home energy ratings and has lectured extensively on this and other energy efficiency matters throughout the UK, with a number of articles being published in the press. His industry credentials are impressive, including:
- Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts & Manufacturing;
- Fellow and President of the Institute of Domestic Heating and Environmental Engineers;
- Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing;
- Member of the Chartered Management Institute and Associate of the Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers.
Peter is also Member of Peterborough Environment City Trust and Chairman of the Heating Strategy Group of the Government supported Energy Efficiency Partnership for Homes.
